经典重归！由马修·伯恩带领新冒险舞团演绎的《剪刀手爱德华》首演于2005年，此次放映影像录制于2024年威尔士千禧中心举办的纪念演出现场。

 

这个充满了哥特式浪漫的故事由卡罗琳·汤普森改编自蒂姆·波顿1990年创作的同名电影。身为创造者的科学家遽然离世，为爱德华留下了诡异的剪刀手，当他走出封闭的古堡来到世人居住的小镇，人们能否接纳他可怖的外表，触及他纯真而温柔的内心，理解他融入人群的渴望？

 

借助丹尼·艾夫曼（Danny Elfman）与特里·戴维斯（Terry Davies）的经典配乐，并延续马修·伯恩标志性的叙事风格，《剪刀手爱德华》的舞蹈编排戏剧性十足，更加细腻地贴合情绪变化，刻画出犀利而温柔的剧作特质，营造出极具张力的戏剧感。舞剧《天鹅湖》《睡美人》《灰姑娘》中的老搭档舞台设计莱斯·布拉泽斯顿（Lez Brotherston）以20世纪50年代拼贴画风格的布景塑造舞台，而以投影形式出现的星空、云层与飘雪则为舞台增添梦幻魔力。全男班《天鹅湖》中饰演“王子”的利亚姆·莫维尔（Liam Mower）领衔出演剪刀手爱德华，对其敏感悲情而不乏自嘲式幽默的特质的演绎更添看点。

When his creator dies he is left alone and unfinished with only scissors for hands until a kindly townswoman invites him to live with her suburban family.
